Templafy's contracts now say what Salesforce says

July 1, 20265 Min Read
Templafy

The challenge

Templafy has never had an internal Salesforce admin, every line of Salesforce development has always been outsourced.

By 2024, Templafy found itself dealing with a product catalog carrying years of clutter, discounting without guardrails, and a prior CPQ consultant whose work was so poor that flagging it ended the relationship.

The sharpest symptom was in the contracts themselves: sales was redlining prices and product terms on the output documents headed to Ironclad, while Salesforce kept the old numbers. The system of record wasn't.

The work

Adam Patton, a Laminar Fellow, was embedded as lead developer under a monthly managed services engagement that began around August 2024.

The first phase was structural: migrating Templafy to a new product catalog and price book, standardizing packages and bundles, and implementing discounting guardrails.

The governing rule came next: output documents must match Salesforce exactly. No more redlining terms on paper that the system never sees. His team also absorbed the entirety of the prior consultant's work, and restructured the catalog again when Templafy added AI products to its lineup.

From February to July 2026, the engagement expanded into Templafy's ERP: an order-to-sales-order integration syncing Salesforce CPQ orders into NetSuite for billing and finance. It was Adam's sixth NetSuite integration (built point-to-point, no middleware connector), and it shipped entirely inside the 58-hour monthly managed services cadence rather than as a standalone project.

The impact

Quote-to-cash at Templafy now runs on one line: a rep configures and closes in CPQ, and the order lands in NetSuite for billing without rekeying. Contracts match the system they came from.

Two years in, the engagement keeps running, the integration went live this summer and is being hardened through post-go-live triage. Templafy's deal desk works with Adam's team day-to-day, and there is no sign the relationship is ending.

For a company that has never staffed Salesforce internally, the Fellow-led team serves as the system's institutional memory.
